ACA 1: Fundamentals and Eligibility

This session introduces agents to the essential framework of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the key eligibility requirements for enrolling clients in Marketplace health plans. Participants will gain a clear understanding of the law’s purpose, how it supports the Marketplace, and why it’s critical for agents to know its structure and protections. We’ll cover income guidelines, residency, and immigration status requirements, including mixed-status households and common myths about ACA eligibility. By the end of this session, agents will be equipped to confidently identify who qualifies for coverage and how to guide clients through the early stages of enrollment.
